The membership must become aware of the violent groups gathered to oppose us, and of the way they hide behind seemingly noble causes. These groups have a century long tradition of co-opting legitimate civil rights movements to advance Marxism. Their tools of violence and intimidation are condoned by the American Left, and must be opposed by anyone who claims to love liberty.

The recent harassment and subsequent attack in Portland on a Libertarian US Senate candidate, represents an expansion of a relatively unknown violent underground criminal element, spanning the earth, with roots in the Bolshevik Revolution. Brave men and women across the world have been embroiled in an unseen war for over a century. A war fought in back alleys, weaving through underground music subculture, and the ebb and flow of right vs. left saw it flare up throughout the 20th century.
It has now boiled over into the mainstream political world , with mob violence and coordinated attacks on Libertarian and Republican candidates and events. The collision of these gangs with the world of politics, and society in general, is a dark omen. This article will provide the body politic with information about who these people are, and what they really represent. You will learn that the anti-racist is the bigot, and those they call nazis and fascists are the freedom fighters. As I discussed in my article “Nationalism and Newspeak”, we may as well live in a political version of “Alice in Wonderland”, where everything is upside down and backward.
Had a patriotic group attacked a left wing Marxist political rally of one of the top 3 parties in the US, the joint terrorism task force would doubtless be up their collective posteriors with a drone before nightfall the following day. As it stands, the staff of the venue is brainwashed so completely by the newspeak, or perhaps intimidated by the gangs, they won’t even call the police, and federal law enforcement could care less. Meanwhile, shadowy groups pay for rowdy street protesters, who are sent to disrupt Donald Trump’s campaign events.
Images of bloodied Americans flash across our TV screens, their heads split open as they are called “nazis” for opposing illegal immigration in peaceful protest. Do you think this is all coincidence? What if I told you it was a coordinated effort to stifle dissent, and has been going on for over a century? It is time to expose these vermin, and explain the tactics and propaganda that are used fool so many, and intimidate those who see through it.
These elements have recently started to infiltrate the Libertarian Party, in an attempt to prevent the free market principles we espouse from destroying the century of progress the left has made in the US.
It is an age old political trick to use terminology to hide ones real intentions. In this manner, you can prevent criticism, or deflect it, and claim those who oppose your true intentions are opposing the cloak you have wrapped it in. There was nothing remotely patriotic about “The Patriot Act”. A more recent example would be “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”, AKA “Obamacare”, which has lowered the quality of care, and caused a massive rise in health care costs.
The same deception is rampant in America’s civil rights movements, its new shock troops known as “Social Justice Warriors.” The most militant of these are part of organized violent gangs known as ANTIFA. Once the historical origin of these groups are brought to light, their present day manifestations may be understood in context.
The first step to understanding ANTIFA, is to understand what they mean by equality. A Libertarian believes in equality of opportunity. The chance to achieve. The lack of restraint on the exercise of their free will, and the enjoyment of the fruits of their triumph. Most people hear “Equality” and it sounds like something they would support. The trouble is, these groups fight for equality of result, which is only possible by holding back strength and innovation, leading to a perpetual entropy in society. It inherently requires force and must be rejected by anyone claiming to be a part of our movement. Most who propagate the theory are classic useful idiots, who may genuinely care, but are not educated enough on politics or economics to understand the results of their misguided efforts, or the motivations of their leaders.

The real motivation of the leaders of these movements is to create chaos, and foment the race and class struggles that can be exploited to bring about their eventual goal of a communist state to fruition. Whether in the arena of race, environmentalism, fighting poverty, etc., the push is always beyond equal rights under the law into special rights, and to advocate for punitive measures against ideological opponents. With each victory, a new outrage appears.
Equality of opportunity is what we seek in a free society, and especially in America, as it is a founding principle and enshrined in the Constitution.
Equality of result is not only impossible, but leads to enmity and division in society, which the Marxist agitator uses to usher in socialism. One of the best illustrations of how this plays out comes from an unlikely source, a Canadian band, not often thought of as political, who recorded an amazing metaphor in song on the subject.

So as you can see, the only way to achieve the equality they speak of, is to reduce everyone to the lowest common denominator. This inherently requires force. So it is a fundamentally flawed and anti-liberty worldview. The leadership know it will never work. They just need enough chopping going on to weaken the trees that would otherwise be able to oppose them. They chop at anything of value to people, like national or ethnic heritage, traditional religions, anything that people gather around in time of distress and draw strength and a sense of duty from. This is key to the success of the long term communist plan to bring the people under its subjection.

The first thing you notice is that the goal is to overthrow the existing power structure, not create justice or equality. The Marxist view of class struggle is simply a vehicle to drive them to domination, not an attempt to create equality. This fundamental underpinning is key.
– Marxism emphasizes the centrality of class struggle as the principal determinant of social change.
– By exerting a constant pressure on the proletariat, capital compels it to unite in resistance. This process, often partial, sectoral and fragmented, at times limited to economic conflict between workers and their employers over pay and conditions, at other moments rising to the level of a generalized struggle, is the basic objective foundation of the class struggle of the proletariat.
So the point is not to address an oppression of the worker, but to apply pressure that forces the business owner to cut corners in pay and benefits with taxes and regulations, lately the saying is “green is the new red” as environmental regulations are also applied t add pressure. Build up labor unions to demand more pay and benefits at the same time, unions are Marx’s “Industrial Armies” from his 10 points in the Communist Manifesto.
In the same way, affirmative action is not a means to create equality. At its root, it is a white supremacist policy. It codifies into law the idea minorities cannot compete against whites without a handicap. It serves only to increase resentment among minorities and create a view that white people are arrogant and paternalistic. Say equality but sow division. That is the name of the game. It creates a victim complex and resentment among whites that feeds negative attitudes toward minorities, and the system of slave morality that form mental chains, chains that ultimately lead people to vote for the physical ones. The final deathgasm of freedom, at the hands of useful idiocy.
Remember, the people of Russia supported the Bolsheviks. 50 million people, duped by the idea of equality, died in death camps and gulags. Most people aren’t that educated, and that is why the wise men that founded our country created a Republic. A Democracy is mob rule, tyranny of the majority. That is why Marx instructed his agitators to first create Democracy, then Implement his “Ten Points”.

When the Marxist progressives in the US, during the 20’s, eliminated our separation of powers, changing a Republic into a Democracy, they used the same tactics, changing the way we elect Senators, and other offices, subjecting the ship of state to Democracy, or as Lenin called it, “The Road to Socialism”.
It empowers the mob. Contrasting to a Republic, which protects the minority from the mob. Especially the smallest minority of all, the individual.

By the 1920’s, the Marxist “Progressive” movement had succeeded in toppling the Republic in favor of a Democracy, or “The Road to Socialism” if you ask Vladmir Lenin. For brevity I will include a couple excellent articles on the subject for further study as to the effect this had on the Nation and the States.
It is critical to understanding how empowering the mob is essential to creating socialism. The newly created “tyranny of the majority”, would be enforced by the coming “Industrial Armies”, AKA Labor Unions, of the Communist Manifesto in the worlplace. For the streets and any organizing for freedom? That is where we see the birth of ANTIFA.
Origin and History of Anti Fascist Action, and ANTIFA, and similar historical counterparts around the world.
BEGINNINGS
The root of these groups lies in the founding of the USSR. Leon Trotsky, creator and leader of the Red Army formed the first ANTIFA, and they operated in an identical fashion across Russia in the years leading up to the Bolshevik Revolution. Out of these groups he formed the Red Army, who murdered millions of their own countrymen, and countless others. The pictures below have an eerie similarity to their modern counterparts.
In his 1930 work, “The History of the Russian Revolution”. The last word in the passage quoted below is “расистов”, whose Latin transliteration is “racistov”or “racisti”, translated into English as “racists”.
“Slavophilism, the messianism of backwardness, has based its philosophy upon the assumption that the Russian people and their church are democratic through and through, whereas official Russia is a German bureaucracy imposed upon them by Peter the Great. Mark remarked upon this theme: “In the same way the Teutonic jackasses blamed the despotism of Frederick the Second upon the French, as though backward slaves were not always in need of civilised slaves to train them.” This brief comment completely finishes off not only the old philosophy of the Slavophiles, but also the latest revelations of the ‘racists.'”
The Slavophiles which Trotsky alluded to were historically a group of traditionalist Slavs who valued greatly their native culture and way of life, and wanted to protect it. Trotsky on the other hand saw them and others like them as an impedement to his internationalist communist plans for the world. To him, Slavophiles, i.e. Slavs that committed the “crime” of loving their own people and trying to protect their traditional ways were simply “backward”, and others like them were simply “racists”.
Most people probably assumed that the word “racist” was coined to identify people who were just plain bigoted against certain racial groups, and as a rallying cry for good liberals to protect the racial minorities from the bigots. It appeared in different forms a few times before, but Leon Trotsky himself, who created and led the Red Army, popularized the word as a slur to dehumanize his opposition before they were murdered in rivers of blood across Russia.
The truth is that the entire concept behind the word he coined was to cast anyone resisting internationalist collectivism as backwards ehtnocentrists, in order to stifle dissent. It was used by the original ANTIFA, out of which he formed the Red Army, as the rallying cry and moral justification for Commissar Trotsky’s murderous rampages that destroyed any traditionalists who wished to defend their cultures and ways of life from the Bolshevik tyranny.
Today the same tactics are being used. Any group wishing to maintain a national identity, a culture, an ethnic tradition or expressions of any of the above in a positive light are branded racists. Just as your neighbor reported you to the secret police, ANTIFA calls your boss to get you fired, or the venue you plan to speak at to suppress your speech. If you resist there are good odds you may end up in a gulag. There is nothing new under the sun.

In 1934, the governing body of international communism, COMINTERN, said the following:
“The Comintern (SH) is the global center of the international anti-fascist and anti-social-fascist movement.The Comintern (SH) unifies and leads the anti-fascist and anti-social-fascist forces of all countries towards the socialist world revolution.”
These violent street arms of COMINTERN were opposed across Europe by Fascists like Franco and Mussolini, and the NSDAP in Germany. The violence and intimidation wrought by these groups in the Wiemar Republic was a big factor in the rise of Hitler. His “Brownshirts” were very successful in beating back these gangs, and the freedom and peace this brought to the streets, ironically, was a big factor in his popularity. Remember, he was elected. So for those who are actually against fascism, ANTIFA along with the intimidation and chaos they sow, are the sort of thing that lead people to beg for a strong leader. Trump is not Hitler, but if these groups are not destroyed, you may get a Hitler because of them.
The historian Norman Davies, in his book “Europe at War 1939–1945: No Simple Victory”, explains that anti-fascism does not offer a coherent political ideology, but rather that it is an “empty vessel”. Davies further asserts that the concept of anti-fascism is a “mere political dance” created by Josef Stalin and spread by Soviet propaganda organs in an attempt to create the false impression that Western democrats that by joining the USSR in the opposition to fascism, they could in general align themselves politically with communism. The motive would be to lend legitimacy to the dictatorship of the proletariat, and was done at the time the USSR was pursuing a policy of collective security.
In the 1920s and 1930s in Germany, Communist Party and Social Democratic Party members advocated violence and mass agitation among the working class.
Leon Trotsky himself instructed aspiring communist movements:
“Fighting squads must be created … nothing increases the insolence of the fascists so much as ‘flabby pacifism’ on the part of the workers’ organisations … [It is] political cowardice [to deny that] without organised combat detachments, the most heroic masses will be smashed bit by bit.”
His instructions survived his own date with death at the hands of communism.
– In the UK, the 1970’s saw the rise of socialism, and the response was voters began to give increasing power in parliament to the National Front, and other parties and candidates taking a pro-British, anti-marxist stance. The Anti-Nazi League (ANL) was launched by the Socialist Workers Party (SWP). The ANL had a large-scale propaganda campaign and squads that attacked NF meetings and paper sales. The success of the ANL’s campaigns contributed to the end of the NF’s period of growth. During this period, there were also a number of black-led anti-fascist organisations, including the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism (CARF) and local groups like the Newham Monitoring Project.
The SWP disbanded the ANL in 1981, but many squad members refused to stop their activities. They were expelled from the SWP in 1981, many going on to found Red Action. The SWP used the term squadism to dismiss these militant anti-fascists as thugs. In 1985, some members of Red Action and the anarcho-syndicalist Direct Action Movement launched Anti-Fascist Action (AFA). Their founding document said “we are not fighting Fascism to maintain the status quo but to defend the interests of the working class”.
This was the beginnings of the communist street gangs we have in many American cities across the United States, including the particularly disgusting group of thugs known as “Rose City Antifa” that attacked those who came to hear Augustus Invictus speak in Portland.
-Antifascistisk Aktion (AFA) is an anti-fascist group founded in Sweden in 1993. AFA’s Activity Guide advocates violence against neo-Nazis. Some in the mainstream media have even accurately labelled them left-wing extremists. An editorial in the tabloid newspaper Expressen argued that the label anti-fascist was misleading, because of the organization’s methods, such as stealing the subscriber list of the National Democrats newspaper, and threatening the subscribers.
The National Democrat Party is the only party in Sweden that opposes mass immigration and welfare subsidies for islamists. This illustrates the front they put up quite clearly. Oppose the government bringing in huge numbers of muslims who are responsible for mass rapes in the streets across Europe? You’re a racist, and violence is appropriate on you! Sadly, among the LP some hold the view that taxation is not theft if it is given as welfare to refugees from wars we don’t agree with who oppress women and murder gay people. If you want to know who in the party is here for an ulterior motive….find who supports mass islamic immigration.
Other critics say the group does not respect freedom of speech, because some members have attacked legitimate political activities and peaceful nationalists.

The Evolution, The Violent Left in Modern America
The street element of the Marxist program exploits freedom of assembly by using violent mobs to provoke people and create propaganda when they defend themselves or retaliate. They will take video and edit out the part where a left-wing protester threw a rock or spit on someone, but the video shows the punch that replied. You see this at Trump rallies around the US,one big element of their tactics is to provoke a response and then press charges, or sue.
In the video below, you can see a man attacked on a train by ANTIFA, despite the obvious self defense, he is jailed, and another voice is silenced, in a classic case repeated on the streets of cities across the planet every day.
During the 2016 election cycle, this rabble is out of control. For a recent example, look at what happened in Anaheim, CA, as ANTIFA attacked a Klan rally. Had they not shown up and attacked, nobody would have been stabbed, and nobody would have ever heard about 13 guys marching around a suburban park. It is one the first stories I can think of to portray the truth, the left was the aggressor.

One man quoted in the LA Times gave me a chuckle as he made a Freudian slip. These people are so close minded he cannot see the obvious irony in his statement.
“I was expecting violence — but it’s disgusting,” said Nick Keeton, 18, of Anaheim. “I feel like this is 1953 and we’re in Kentucky.”
He is right. People who advocate a view the bulk of society finds repugnant were assaulted while exercising freedom of speech and assembly. If those rights do not apply to those we disagree with, they don’t exist for any of us.
The freedom riders in the Jim Crow southeast, were every bit as hated as the Klan is in Anaheim. The violence perpetrated against the Freedom Riders galvanized support for them. That’s part of the American psyche due to our tumultuous birth as a nation. We love an underdog.
So the ANTIFA in Anaheim just delivered a propaganda coup to their supposed enemy. They supported white supremacy, in misguided efforts to stop it, and the useful idiots did not perceive, the entire debacle was by design of their leadership. They just want to foment race and class struggle, not solve it. Just as their prophet Karl Marx taught them to do. They will help the Klan if it means chaos, fighting white supremacy was never the goal.
The victims of ANTIFA are almost never actual racists. In the deluded mind of ANTIFA, Trump supporters are nazis, Libertarians are fascists, and in 2007, an active duty sailor in the US Navy was beaten to death for his Lynyrd Skynyrd T-shirt at a concert. In a rare case of police involvement, likely due to his active duty status, the perpetrator was actually arrested.

ASBURY PARK –
Alexander J. Franklin, 33, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested here Friday and charged with manslaughter in the beating death of James C. Morrison, 25, of New Gretna, last month outside Club Deep in Asbury Park.
A joint investigation by the Asbury Park Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit led to Franklin’s apprehension, which revealed his association with the gang FSU, or Friends Stand United, according to a news release from the Prosecutor’s Office.
According to police, FSU was said to have formed to oppose the neo-Nazi presence in the Boston hardcore punk scene of the mid-1980s, but has grown into a gang of young men who assault individuals at hardcore shows in dozens of cities across the country shows similar to the one Morrison attended Jan. 14.
In an interview last month, several of Morrison’s friends dismissed allegations that Morrison was involved with skinheads or neo-Nazi groups. The altercation was related to a T-shirt worn by one of Morrison’s friends that night at Club Deep, which depicted a confederate flag, they said.
I’ve known him since middle school and he has no ties to racist groups. Jim was in the Navy and fought at the beginning of the war in Iraq. He went there to protect the rights of the person who killed him. Jim liked everybody and hung out with all kinds of people, said Sam Ross, a roommate and friend of Morrison’s.
Perhaps everyone should just wear the T-shirt above, maybe they can go to a concert and come home without being beaten, maimed, or killed. Here is some more video of the current growth of these tactics on our soil.

Portland is a liberal city, and as such has a large ANTIFA presence. The biggest areas of ANTIFA activity are leftist dominated cities with a lack of racism, like Portland, San Fransisco, Boston, and similar places full of white youth who have it so easy, the white guilt takes hold and they have to sooth it with sadistic acts of violence and bigotry,an irony that is hard to wrap ones head around. They celebrate the 1993 murder of a young singer, Eric Banks, because in their eyes a person cannot have civil rights infringed upon for race, but can be murdered for writing songs, it is open season on creed.
Author Jim Goad, a Portland resident, wrote a very good piece on them for VICE a while back, that should give some insight to what it is like to live in a place where they operate without resistance.

There is tons of press about them from more independent sources, and they utilize the typical tactics of electronic harassment, trying to get people fired from jobs or removed from political office, threaten businesses, forcing them to cancel events, as they did to Augustus Invictus, and making subtle, and not so subtle, threats of violence. There s a complete lack of interest fro Law Enforcement, and most familiar suspect a quiet nod of approval from the left wing political sphere dominant in cities they are biggest in. The left has a long history of working with violent extremists behind the scenes to suppress opposition. The curious tale of Jim Jones, San Francisco liberal darling, is told below, to show how few limits exists for the madness the Marxist left wing will support if it helps their goals. By their definition, not supporting mass migration is nazism. Support for the free market is Fascism. If you are white, kill yourself, or join them in killing other white people. You are a plague. You are not allowed to express any sort of pride in your race, because only non-white people get this right. “Rock Against Communism”
The ANTIFA movement grew first in Europe, as did its opposition. In the 1970’s these groups were attacking newspaper stands of right wing parties across the UK and Europe, much in the same way they attack pro-liberty Facebook pages today. It was a period much like modern day America, with socialist policies sweeping the rights of the people away, pushes for gun control, and a new form of politically correct tyranny taking root.
The period saw the first waves of mass immigration from mostly middle eastern countries into England, and the rest of Europe. Turkish cheap labor caused the English workers to lose their jobs, and violence began to break out as frustrated youth were faced with islamic gangs roaming the neighborhoods looking to prey on the native born youth. The fighting was labelled in the media as white racism, when it was actually self defense and defense of their neighborhoods. You see the same distorted views and one sided reporting today in our own country.
I personally was subject to the same abandonment by my own society during the late 80’s and early 90’s in southern California. As the invasion of illegal aliens from Mexico ramped up, the schools and streets became a place where white kids were a minority. The multicultural kumbaya story our liberal teachers espoused was quite the opposite. This is one of the utter failures of the Libertarian Party, and one that needs to be inserted into the immigration discussion. Imagine yourself a young boy being beaten because white people were not allowed in this bathroom or that park. Imagine self defense efforts causing you to be labelled a racist.
There was no media outrage when I couldn’t get on a bus, as there was for Rosa Parks. It is the truth and it cannot be ignored. If we are to promote liberty, we cannot sacrifice our children to the altar of political correctness. The fact is that a white child in a predominately black or brown school will face race based violence that nobody will do anything about. To expect these kids not to make an effort to protect themselves in an idiotic position. These are the literal victims of collectivist and statist policies we all oppose, so to condemn them insults our own intellectual honesty and core principles.
My wounds and scars did not ignite a call for justice by my fellow Americans. They were instead recorded during illegal strip searches by police who would record every scar and tattoo in the gang file bestowed on any white kid who resisted, like some perverse inversion of the stars Hitler forced the Jews to wear.
Recently a man claiming to be a Libertarian in the midwest declined to let my friend Augustus Invictus speak, because of the “Rock Against Communism” flag behind him in video from speeches he made before our band played. My band is called “Lovecrime”, because in the Orwellian Marxist Newspeak of today, loving your country is a crime.
It is not the fans of “Rock Against Communism” who are the bigots, but those who oppose their free expression of natural rights. The scorn should be directed especially at those who claim to be Libertarians, sworn to the “Non-Aggression Principle”, yet remain silent as a speaker and the attendees of a peaceful political event are assaulted.
I had not met Augustus when I began to publicly defend him. It was a simple matter for me, he had not DONE anything. He just thought differently, and any true Libertarian defends the rights of others to have a difference of opinion.
How can one claim to be a Libertarian, and deny him a right to speak? Especially over prejudiced views about things they don’t understand.
He has been treated by many as if he was a freedom rider in the Jim Crow south, and the party was a lunch counter that he is not welcome at. Neither, said the thug wing of the party, are any of those “niggers” he hangs out with, although they replaced that pejorative slur with “fascists”.
Racists? No, Anti-Communists
In contrast, the musicians and fans of “Rock Against Communism”, ignorantly labeled racists, give him a place to speak where ANTIFA will not dare attack, because these people resist force wielded against his natural rights of speech and assembly. They helped his interracial family move to another residence. What RAC fans and musicians are REALLY doing is fostering among ourselves a global cultural exchange, and a global call for solidarity to preserve diversity in an ironic twist. Orwell saw it all coming, welcome to 1984 in 2016.
If you claim to be Libertarian, it is absurd to be against musicians who stand up to the #1 organized enemy of liberty on the planet. A philosophy responsible for over 100 million murders in the 20th century. A belief at the root of nearly every state encroachment on your life.
I say that from Japan to Chile, from the United States to England, and from Mexico to Scandanavia, the musicians and fans of RAC represent the finest youth the world has to offer. People who will not betray their forefathers even as they are assaulted and fired from jobs ans harassed by phone and internet warriors, they adapt and overcome, and as the Para-Elite albums title states…..”Push On”, as the soundtrack to the revolution.
If the world makes it a crime to be associated with a youth movement promoting strength, and opposition to the underlying philosophy behind nearly all of the world’s existing forms of tyranny, Marxism, I will just name my band “Lovecrime”.
The “Rock Against Communism” banner will proudly fly overhead, with our “Liberty or Death – Don’t Tread on Me” flag. As a Libertarian I don’t live my life according to the opinions of others, especially ignorant opinions that support the enemies of freedom. I will respect your right to disgrace yourself by insulting me or these brave musicians.
If that offends you, find the nearest mirror, and look at an intellectually dishonest hypocrite, far worse than any fascist could ever be.
The Marxist left in America will go to any length of insanity to accomplish their goals. Everyone has heard of Jim Jones and the Jonestown massacre, but most have no idea he was the darling of the American left wing, organizing street protesters, with supporters including the President of the United States. Support that even continued AFTER his final act of Marxism, the same mass murder it always ends with.
The Reverend Jim Jones and his “Peoples Temple”. The classic example of left-wing support for violent groups that support them, cloaked in the cause of “social justice” and “equality”.
Jim Jones and his “Peoples’s Temple” established in 1971 in San Francisco, is a classic example of using a theme of fighting intolerance and oppression to cloak a sinister agenda. He worked in an identical manner, using the same rhetoric of Marxism and anti-racism as the ANTIFA use today. Jones was able to dupe a large part of the media and political class of San Francisco with his rhetoric of tolerance. He, just like ANTIFA, was able to put large numbers of people into the streets. Protesting politicians running for office, just as those disrupting Donald Trump rallies today, and the recent attack in Portland on Libertarian US Senate Candidate from Florida, Augustus Invictus.
Famed San Francisco Chronicle columnist Herb Caen was the Temple’s most widely read media acquaintance, while City Editor Steven Gavin attended Temple services. Dr. Carlton Goodlett, publisher of the San Francisco newspaper, The Sun Reporter, which was targeted towards African American readers, presented the Temple with a “Special Merit Award”. Temple media advisor Michael Prokes, a former reporter for a CBS affiliate, dined with Sun Reporter editor Tom Fleming and spoke of harassment of the Temple by the CIA and FBI..Jones also won the National Newspaper Publishers Association Man of the Year Award, given by the Black Press of America.
California State Assemblyman Willie Brown helped to bring together Mayor George Mosone and the Peoples temple, which later led to Jones appointment as chairman of the San Francisco Housing Authority Commission. District Attorney Joseph Freitas and Sheriff Richard Hongisto were supporters and appeared in a temple documentary. President Carter also sent a representative to a dinner at the temple at which Jones and then Governor Jerry Brown spoke. Jim Jones and First lady Rosalynn Carter both spoke at the 1976 Democratic Party Headquarters in San Francisco. During Carter’s campaign, Jones met with VP candidate Walter Mondale on his airplane. Famed gay politician Harvey Milk spoke at the temple, as did Governor Jerry Brown.
In 1976, Walter Mondale stated regarding the Temple that “knowing the congregations deep involvement in the major social and constitutional issues of our country . . . is a great inspiration to me.” Welfare Secretary Joseph Califano stated “your humanitarian principles and your interest in protecting individual liberty and freedom have made an outstanding contribution to furthering the cause of human dignity.”
March 17, 1977, letter from Jones to Carter, Jones requested more aid for Cuba, then headed by Fidel Castro, whom Jones had earlier met with in Cuba. In a handwritten reply to Jones on White House stationery, Carter wrote “Your comments on Cuba have been helpful. I hope your suggestion can be acted on in the near future.” Carter also wrote that “I enjoyed being with you during the campaign — and do hope you can meet Ruth soon”, referring to her sister-in-law, Ruth Carter Stapleton.
These activities were all happening concurrently with radical and violent behavior. All Jones had to do was put on a public face of anti-racism and tolerance, and he was free to support all manner of violent political activity.
Jones, behind the scenes, was supporting Bay Area extremist groups such as the Black Panthers, the New World Liberation Front, the Black Liberation Army (BLA) and The Venceremos, which spawned the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). In speeches at the Temple, Jones even took responsibility for the bombing of a Vietnam-bound munitions train in Roseville, California.
Jones expressed admiration for the SLA after it kidnapped Patricia Hearst and was involved in shootings, and the Temple distributed the Symbionese Declaration among its members. However, he attempted to convince law enforcement officials and the press that he opposed such violence by having members hand deliver a $2,000 check to the Hearst family mansion.
The organization held a “Spiritual Jubilee” in the Los Angeles Convention Center in 1976. Temple San Francisco supporters Angela Davis, Carlton Goodlett and Joseph Freitas traveled to the event, along with Temple supporter Lieutenant Governor Mervyn Dymally and Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley.
Of course, we all know the truth now. The “Peoples Temple” was not about the people. It was about Jim Jones and his megalomania. The criminal activity finally started to come to light, as allegations surfaced of homicide, arson, battery, extortion, kidnapping, illegal drug use and illegal diversion of welfare funds circulated, prompting investigtions. Feeling the pressure, Jones and his most loyal followers fled to Guyana.
This did not stop the support. While most influential allies broke ties with the Temple following Jones’ departure after increasing media scrutiny, some did not. For example, Willie Brown stated that the attacks were “a measure of the church’s effectiveness.” San Francisco columnist Herb Caen wrote “Hot story, but where’s the smoking gun?”, concluding, “so far lots of smoke but no gun.”
On July 31, 1977, just after Jones had fled to Guyana, the Temple conducted a rally against political opponents attended by Willie Brown, Harvey Milk and Art Agnos, among others. At that rally, Brown stated “When somebody like Jim Jones comes on the scene…and constantly stresses the need for freedom of speech and equal justice under law for all people, that absolutely scares the hell out of most everybody…I will be here when you are under attack, because what you are about is what the whole system ought to be about!” Brown also stated of Jones at the rally that “he is a rare human being” and “he cares about people…Rev. Jim Jones is that person who can be helpful when all appears to be lost and hope is just about gone.” After Congressman Leo Ryan announced that he would investigate Jonestown following the November 1978 elections, Willie Brown was still planning a fund raising dinner for the Temple that was to be held on December 2, 1978.
Of course, it ended the same way all Marxist programs to create “equality” end, mass murder.
On the evening of November 18, 1978 in Jonestown, Guyana, Jones ordered his congregation to drink cyanide-laced Flavor Aid. In all, at Jonestown, a nearby airstrip and Georgetown, 918 people died, including over 270 children, resulting in the greatest single loss of American civilian life in a non-natural disaster until the incidents of September 11, 2001. Congressman Leo Ryan was among those killed at the airstrip where he had come to investigate the accusations against the so called “Reverend”.
Judy and Patty Houston, the girls about whom Carolyn Layton threatened Joyce Houston not to move for custody at the Sutter Street commune, were also found poisoned. John Stoen, the son of former Assistant District Attorney Timothy Stoen, was found poisoned in Jim Jones’s cabin.
Sharon Amos, who had earlier led political pamphletting campaigns in San Francisco, murdered her children with a knife and committed suicide at the Temple’s Georgetown, Guyana headquarters (150 miles from Jonestown) at the behest of Jones.
Michael Prokes, who directed the Temple’s relations with several San Francisco politicians and media, survived when he was ordered to deliver a suitcase containing Temple funds to be transferred to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He committed suicide in March 1979 at a press conference he called.
The events did not stop the support from the left. Many, even afterwards praised them. Just as the left gives the quiet nod of approval for the violent thugs of ANTIFA.
After the tragedy, Moscone initially defended his appointment of Jones, stating that, in 1975, Jones’ reputation was that of a man who believed in social justice and racial equality, and that there was evidence that the Peoples Temple had initiated programs for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. When asked by a reporter whether he felt in any way culpable for the events, Moscone became angry at the reporter and stated “I’m not taking any responsibility, it’s not mine to shoulder.”
Milk stated that “Guyana was a great experiment that didn’t work. I don’t know, maybe it did.”
Milk and Moscone were both killed by Dan White nine days after the Jonestown massacre.
Willie Brown continued to praise Jones, feeling that attacks on Jones were effectively attacks on the black community. Brown initially stated he had “no regrets” over his past association the Temple and that he would not dissociate himself from it like other politicians. “They all like to say, ‘Forgive me, I was wrong’, but that’s bulls—t. It doesn’t mean a thing now, it just isn’t relevant.”
Civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson, who had met with Jones on several occasions,refused to disparage Jones, stating that he still considered Jones to be a man that “worked for the people.” Jackson also stated “I would hope that all of the good he did will not be discounted because of this tremendous tragedy.” Jackson praised Moscone for “not going on a diatribe against the Peoples Temple” and “blowing the whole thing out of proportion”.

Conclusion
Behold the real face of the left my fellow Americans. Those of you unwittingly duped into cooperation by their siren song of “Social Justice” and “Equality” must recognize the difference between groups co-opting the causes we would want to support, and remember in the Orwellian world we live in, those being decried as “Nazis” are often the ones fighting for freedom, and the ones claiming to fight racism are the violent bigots. Why do you think Orwell knew this so long ago? Because he read the tactical manuals of the Communists, and knew the enemy. Often, Libertarians unwittingly support them. Now you know their history! One of the main reasons we have not more successful in growth is that we are not identifying the enemy, both within and outside the party.
I have been personally attacked by party members who are so bold they will end posts with #antifascista, as they crusaded to kick myself and others out of the party because they knew this day would come. When they would be drug into the light and shown for what they really are. They ironically claimed at the time “nazis were taking over the party”, when the reality is they have long used subterfuge to gain legitimacy for their violent movement with loud condemnation of “racism” to cloak their wicked intent. Anyone who aligns with ANTIFA is a NAP violator by default. They claim allegiance to violent groups dedicated solely to the use of force to suppress free speech and assembly. Every American should unite in a chorus of “Smash ANTIFA!” from the rooftops.
They are going to force you to fight them if freedom gains any traction. The Government will do nothing. You must be prepared to destroy them. It has been over a century and enough innocent blood to fill an ocean. Know your enemy. Be prepared. Quit drinking the Kool-Aid America.
